Needs and Wants

We all have basic needs - water, food, clothing, shelter, etc. The problem is wants.  It all started with Adam and Eve.  They had all their needs, but it was their want to be like God that got us all the trouble in this world.  For 9 out of 10 of you and your neighbors, you have your basic needs.  The desire for better food, better clothes, etc. are not needs but wants.  For your other neighbors, their basic needs are not met.  They may work, but do not earn enough to provide all of them.

God commanded you to love your neighbor as yourself.  That means that you care for them.  You share what you have with them.  That includes your concern and time.

Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink?  And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing?  And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?’  And the king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me Matt 25:37-40
